PyCon is Just a Month Away
- Tutorial registration is still open, and you can easily add tutorials to an existing registration. Check out https://us.pycon.org/2014/schedule/tutorials/ for the schedule, and head to https://us.pycon.org/2014/registration/register/ to add them to your account.
- We're really happy to be offering childcare services for the first time, available Friday through Sunday of the conference. Thanks to the Python Software Foundation's subsidy, the cost per day is $50. Space is limited: https://us.pycon.org/2014/childcare/.
- The Young Coder tutorials are back for another year, with Saturday's class being held in English, and Sunday's being held in French. The tutorial is free for children 12 and over! See https://us.pycon.org/2014/events/letslearnpython/ for more information.
- Software Carpentry is hosting a number of classes during the first two days of sprints, April 14 and 15. Software Skills for Scientists, a master class in R, How to Teach Programming, and more. Be sure to register: https://us.pycon.org/2014/events/software_carpentry/.
- Another new event for 2014 is a set of dinners we've put together on Friday. After the day's talks have ended, hosts Brandon Rhodes and Greg Brockman are running two separate dinners near the conference: https://us.pycon.org/2014/events/dinners/. - The schedule for sponsor workshops is still filling up at https://us.pycon.org/2014/schedule/sponsor-tutorials/, so keep an eye on it. These free workshops give you a chance to sit down with our sponsoring organizations and learn more about what they're up to.
- PyCon 2014 is in the center of an exciting city full of great food, culture, and history. Check it out with a guided tour of Old Montreal, a climb up Mount Royal, and more.
